Hello from your friendly PSeeHelp admin, and welcome to the forum. My real name is Luke, I'm 37 years old and have retinitis pigmentosa (RP), an inherited degenerative eye condition that primarily affects night vision, peripheral vision and color perception. As my vision impairment has progressed, I have adapted by learning to use new technologies such as screen magnifiers and screen readers. At this stage I am now using screen readers almost exclusively. My screen reader of choice for Windows is NVDA by NVAccess. I am a regular at a fantastic forum called Apple Viz, a community for blind and low vision users of Apple products. As a longtime iOS user, this site has been incredibly helpful to me over the years, but it seems there was really no comparable forum for the PC and Windows world, so I created this forum in the hopes it can be a simple, central hub for any and all PC and Windows accessibility needs and discussions.
Please check out the various categories and boards I have set up on this forum and chime in to get some discussions started. I am excited to see what we can make this community! With your participation, I hope we can evolve this little experiment into an online resource that becomes invaluable to blind and low vision PC users across the globe.
Thank you for stopping by, and please feel free to drop us a post here in The Lounge to introduce yourself!
Best, Luke
